Varun Dhawan himself says Kalank movie was bad and will not accepted by audience

Varun Dhawan, who played an important role in Karan Johar’s Kalank, was open to film failures at the box office.

Until 2018, Varun Dhawan had just won his praise. But with the beginning of 2019, the most consistent Bollywood actor felt a bitter failure with Kank Johar’s Kalank. The only failure in his filmography until now. Interestingly, Kalank, which also stars Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, is one of the most eagerly awaited films in 2019. Speaking of Kalank’s failure at the box office, Varun Dhawan revealed that he was affected by that.

Varun Dhawan

Varun Dhawan in an interview with the Hindustan Times acknowledged that Kalank was a bad film and that was the reason it did not suit the audience.

“That (Kalank) was not received by the audience because it was a bad film and somewhere we all failed collectively,” Varun told the daily.

However, the 32-year-old actor said that it was not right to blame the director or producer for the failure.

“Making a movie is a team effort. It is wrong to blame the director and producer. And being part of the team, I will take part in the mistake too. The film disappoints people. We have collectively gone through why it didn’t work. Personally, failure is important. I want failure to influence me because if it doesn’t, then that means I don’t like my job, “added Varun Dhawan.

But now, the actor has put everything behind him as he prepares for the next two films – Street Dancer 3D and Coolie No 1. If one is a dance out-and-out film, the other is the adaptation of David Dhawan’s 1996 hit film.

Speaking of choosing diverse roles, Varun said, “I choose films that I know will be my favorite. If I don’t have fun, it won’t be displayed on the screen. I play street dancers in the next movie because I like dancers in real life If I want something serious, I do something like October (2018). With comedy, I want to work with David Dhawan (filmmaker, also Varun’s father) because he is the best in the country. His experience will help me as an actor. ”
